#4 – THE COURSE
We’ve got a spectacular course for this race. The race starts in Page, AZ and finishes at the Stateline Marina. You run over the bridge overlooking the dam, the last few miles are inside the park right above the water, and there is a 3 mile section along a trail that offers beautiful panoramic views of the lake. You’re not going to want to miss this one. You can read a full course description here.
We asked our runners what their favorite part of the race was. You can see the course and the scenery are up there. We want our runners to be familiar with the course and know what they are getting into so they can train appropriately. This is a great course without many hills. At mile 3.5 there is a single (almost double) track trail that runs out along a mesa in Page called the “Rim Trail” and gives you really spectacular views of the lake. This is about 2 miles long. Be aware that this is a trail and the course gets a little sandy here. It is the most challenging part of the course.
Here is a vide of race day to give you a taste of how beautiful the course is.
