Our good friend Terry from Active at Altitude will be hosting a Race Preparation Workshop the Thursday before the Lake Powell Half. If you are using the training schedules we’ve posted about, then you are already a little familiar with Terry and his running expertise. You can register for the workshop here.
Why come to this workshop? You will learn something important that you already know, that what happens in your mind has profound effects on your body, and your physical performance. Ever listen to voices that tell you negative things about yourself, and you end up believing them? Do you create visions of your failure, rather than create a vision for success? This camp will teach you how to turn both of these situations into a stream of positive thoughts that will help supercharge your running, and your life. We will also go through a race course overview, race strategy, and any questions you may have about the race and making it the best experience possible for you.
Camp schedule The camp starts at 10.00 am on Thursday October 16. We will open with introductions, an overview of the camp schedule, then the program for the day. Thursday will include progressive sessions on negative self talk and thoughts, and guided visualizations. Friday morning through to 12.00 pm will include a race course review, and race strategy. The Lake Powell Half Marathon starts at 6.30 am on Saturday October 18.
Workshop rate is $75.00 per person for all registrations held up to October 10 2014 – Maximum of 20 runners for this workshop.
