Did you know that 2015 is the 125th Anniversary of Yosemite National Park? We’re so happy to be an official event included in the park’s celebration! It’s an honor to help celebrate one of our favorite parks in the U.S.!
What that means for you is that the Anniversary logo will be incorporated into race swag (shirts, race guides, etc.). Also, throughout the year we will be posting about other official 125th Anniversary events. I hope those of you who live locally will be able to take part in more of the celebration.
DONATE DURING REGISTRATION
To help celebrate, we are requesting contributions from our runners that we will donate to the parks. Vacation Races will pay for all the processing fees and administrative costs, so that means 100% of your donation will benefit Yosemite National Park. As part of the registration process there will be an option for you to donate (a $10 default donation or the option to donate as much as you’d like).
Any donations of $50 or more will receive a special gift at the race. This is voluntary of course, but we hope you’ll help us give back to this awesome park!
The Yosemite Half Marathon is one of an eight race series comprised of races surrounding the national parks. Our event is hopefully seen by participants as more than just a 13.1 mile race. Runners come to enjoy a beautiful, well organized, and rewarding race. They stay for the parks. Although the course is not inside the park, it captures the beauty of the area and race challenges encourage runners to get out and explore the parks. We work with the surrounding community as well as the park itself to create an event that allows runners and their friends/family to have an unforgettable vacation at a cherished location.
We are thrilled to be an official event of the 125th Anniversary of Yosemite National Park. Just one more reason not to miss this inaugural event.
