Attention Runners and Spectators!
We were just notified by the park service that the parking lot inside the park near the finish line will be completely closed. The 300 car lot has been undergoing some construction work, and due to the recent wet weather it will not be finished by race weekend. What this means is that while you will still be able to find some free parking along Highway 9 and on Lion Blvd, those spots will fill up very fast, and you should plan on more walking than you might have otherwise.
If your hotel is within walking distance of the start line, please consider leaving your car at your hotel and walking. This goes double for your friends and family attending as spectators.
YOUR OPTIONS FOR FINISH LINE TRANSPORTATION
1 – It is free to park at the starting line and we will have free shuttles taking people back from the finish line to the start line after the race. Please consider this your most hassle free option.
2 – As stated before, you might be able to find parking along Highway 9, on Lion Blvd and in the paid lot on Lion Blvd, but spots are extremely limited. If you plan to park on the road, please do not park on the course (west side of the highway) on race day.
3 – We encourage you to walk to the finish line from your hotel, if possible.
VISITING THE PARK
The visitors center will also be closed until Sunday when the shuttles begin (the Human History Museum will remain open). The park shuttles will be running on Sunday, but you should plan on walking into the park from Sunday on.
Let us know if you have any questions. Despite this inconvenience, it’s going to be an awesome weekend!
