Hi Everyone. We have some information regarding shuttles and race entry for race morning. Because the race takes place inside the park, spectators will need to pay and entrance fee to come to the finish line and cheer on their runners.
Please follow the directions below to help things run smoothly for the event and the park race morning
RUNNERS: You do not need to pay to enter the park race morning. You do not need anything with you to get on a shuttle. Though, if you are picking up your bib on race morning, please don’t forget to bring your ID! You will be dropped off past the pay station, at the Visitor Center parking lot.
SPECTATORS: After 6am, you will be able to take shuttles from Miccosukee Indian Village to the Shark Valley Visitor Center. You will need to pay to enter the park when you come to cheer on your runners. The shuttle will drop you off just outside the pay station. Please have your park pass with you on the shuttle and ready when you enter the park. This will help the line to enter the park move quickly.
Don’t have a park pass yet? We highly recommend you get one tomorrow at the Shark Valley Visitor Center while you’re in the area for the race expo. If you won’t be attending the race expo, you can purchase a park pass online here.
Vehicle vs Pedestrian Passes: Depending on your plans for the weekend, a pedestrian pass may be sufficient for you and your party. A pedestrian pass admits the purchaser and any accompanying immediate family members. A pedestrian pass is a good option if you only plan to enter the park on foot race morning. $8 – good for one purchaser and their immediate family for 7 days.
A vehicle pass admits the purchaser and any accompanying persons in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle. If you have or are planning to buy a vehicle pass, it will work when you walk through the pay station for up to 4 people in your party. A vehicle pass is the best option if you plan to enter the park by vehicle at anytime during your visit and are traveling in a group. $25 – good for a private vehicle (or in the case of race morning the purchaser and a group of 3 or less walking in) for 7 days.
If you have an ANNUAL PARK PASS you should bring that with you.
We apologize for the last-minute update. These are the kinds of quirks that come with an inaugural race- especially one inside the park. Thank you for your patience! We’ll see you at the race!
