Our nonprofit partner, Wander Project, had a great year, and it's all thanks to our Charity Bib athletes and all the people who contributed to their fundraising efforts or made independent donations to Wander Project.
By now, we hope you are familiar with our Charity Bib program, but if not, let us give you a quick run-down. Each of our races offers athletes the opportunity to register as a Charity Bib athlete. When this option is selected, athletes fundraise to participate in the race. These funds support Wander Project and the community charity organizations that Wander Project partners with.
This year, Wander Project has already raised over $210,000 for various organizations across the country. Wander Project partners with organizations in the communities where we run, and your generosity has directly given back to these places.
While this is an incredible achievement, the year isn't over yet! In 2021, we were so thankful to return to hosting in-person events. Sure, some modifications were still necessary, but it felt so good to see everyone setting new records, crushing milestones, and sharing hugs and moments of bliss at the finish line. We'll never take those moments for granted again.
To continue to support Wander Project, Vacation Races is matching up to $20,000 in donations to Wander Project now through the end of the year. This includes direct donations, donations that support a current charity bib athlete's fundraiser, and new charity bib registrations between now and December 31, 2021. The final donation amount from Vacation Races will directly support Wander Project and its mission to help local communities in the areas we run.
