Global Adventures Covid-19 Info
How will the trips change due to Covid-19?
We have introduced some safety guidelines to ensure a positive and exciting trip for all our participants!
Covid-19 Vaccine - As of September 1, 2022, a Covid-19 vaccination is no longer required to attend a Global Adventures trip. This decision comes after we’ve reviewed the recommendations from the United States CDC and the various health recommendations of the countries where we travel.
While not required, we recommend the vaccine for those who don’t have infection-induced immunity. We trust that you will make the best decision for your health.
Mask Policy - We follow the requirements of the host country and the CDC. Where masks are not needed, you are still welcome to wear one if it makes you more comfortable. Please respect the decisions of your fellow travelers.
Testing during your trip - We carry rapid tests with us on the trip and they are available for all guests and staff to use. Our on-site medical staff are able to help coordinate further testing if needed. Please do not hesitate to tell us if you notice any symptoms.
Will we cancel trips due to Covid-19?
We intend that all 2023 and 2024 trips will go ahead as planned. If situations like Covid-19 disrupt this plan, we will let participants know as soon as possible if a trip is canceled. We believe this is unlikely to happen.
Company Statement
As of September 1, 2022, proof of COVID vaccination is no longer a requirement for participation in any of our Global Adventure events. This update to our policy comes after much deliberation and in the wake of the United States no longer requiring a negative COVID test to re-enter the country (June 2022) as well the most recent easing of restrictions from the CDC (Aug 2022).The CDC states, “COVID-19 remains an ongoing public health threat; however, high levels of vaccine- and infection-induced immunity and the availability of medical and non-pharmaceutical interventions have substantially reduced the risk for medically significant illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19”.
We do, however, continue to recommend that travelers get the COVID-19 vaccine, especially those who do not have infection-induced immunity. The reports on the vaccine show that it does not prevent infection or transmission, but it does significantly lower the risk of developing severe symptoms and the instances of hospitalization or death. The nature of traveling to the event and then traveling together with the group in close proximity for an extended period of time puts you in a likely position to be exposed to COVID-19. Please weigh all your risks when participating in an event of this nature and make responsible decisions.
Thank you for your patience as we have carefully monitored the situation and enforced the policy we felt was in the best interest of our staff and our participants.
Thank you for being a part of our community. We will see you out on the trails!
